09.30am: Volunteers arrive at SN Home + wheel elderly down
09.45am: Girl Guides meet at SNH
10.00am: Guides, Volunteers and the Elderly depart for the zoo
10.45am: Arrive at zoo
- Brief introduction by Xiaozheng (Assistant Company Leader)
11.00am: Set off from entrance of to embark on trail to the following exhibits
- Polar Bear
- White Rhino
- Giraffe and African Lion
- Orchid Garden
- Children’s World Animal Land (for Animal Show)
12.00pm: Lunch @ Children’s World Animal Land
12.30pm: Animal Friend’s Show @ Children’s World Animal Land
01.30pm: Set off for the exit of zoo, will walk pass the following exhibits
- Komodo Dragon
- Orang Utan
02.30pm Arrive at the exit of zoo
03.00pm: Set off for SNH
03.45pm: Arrive at SNH
Logistics
Chartering of buses (two): North View Guides
Preparation of lunch for elderly: SNH (25 packets)
Additional Notes
1. Admission for the elderly is free, however, the admission for volunteers is payable at a 20% discount (discounted price: $13.20, normal price: $16.50)
No promises, but we are still trying our best to look for subsidies and sponsorships to cover the admission costs for volunteers. Nonetheless we hope you can continue to lend your support for this elderly outing please… Thank you!
2. Areas marked out at Animal Friend’s Show to cater to disabled visitors
Finally, there will be a total of 25 elderly (10 walking, 15 wheelchair-bound) and 2 staff going. We need about 20 volunteers to help supervise the 28 students attached to the elderly. Lunch and afternoon tea will be provided only for the elderly by SN Home. The rest of us have to see to our own lunches. See you there!
