Conducting Group: Elderly Sector Network (ESN)
Date: 6th Dec 2009 (Sun)
Time: 9am to 3:30pm
Venue: Henderson Community Center
Fees: $5 to cover lunch, 1 tea-break & materials costs. Students need only pay $3. Payment may be made on the day of the workshop.
1) The Beginning Volunteer (Basic)
Objective: To allow participants to understand the physiological and psychological aspects of Elderly
Target participants: Fresh volunteers in the Elderly Sector or Volunteers who are interested to know about the elderly
- Ice Breaking games
- Understanding the Elderly U are Working With
- Wheelchair handling
- Dialect U & I
- First Aid Awareness
- Sharing of Experience
2) Volunteer Organization & Management Workshop (Intermediate)
Objective: To allow participants to be aware of issues encountered in volunteer management and organization
Target participants: Volunteers who have at least half a year of experience
- Ice Breaking games
- Issues in volunteer management and organization (Case Studies)
- Lunch
- Puppets handicrafts
- Transferring & Transportation of Elderly
- Sharing of experience
