The IT committee was formed together with the start up of SN Home volunteerism in 1992 with the ultimate goal to reach out to a wider audience and interest them into volunteering.

In 1998, the IT committee designed a website which details volunteering experiences and activities, hoping to achieve the initial objective of reaching out to more people. All these years, together with the hard work and commitment of ex IT committee members, especially Roger Soh, the pioneer of SN IT, it has grown to become a well established committee with a strong structure and foundation.

In order to make it more interesting and contemporary, constant upgrading and updating are carried out. We hope that with the use of multimedia, SN volunteerism spirit can be spread to every corner in Singapore.

Starting in 2011, the IT committee will be integrated with the Publicity committee to reach out to the web-savvy as well as the traditional paper-and-print volunteers.

Objectives/Tasks

• Maintain and update the SN Home website regularly
• Make use of the website to attract the Internet-savvy
• Administrating the SN Volunteer Facebook pages regularly
• Act as liaison between the committee and any parties who might be interested in volunteerism
• Ensure accountability of all photos taken during activities and events in SN Home
• Ensure that all photos are kept in a proper manner
• Developing and use of selected event photos for internet/notice board display purposes
