SN Mooncake Festival Celebration
Date: 06-Oct-2007 (Sat)
Time: 2 – 5.30pm
Venue: SN MPH (Multi Purpose Hall)
Kudos to the organizing team for this joyous celebration and to all the volunteers who aided in the preparation to make the event a success.
This year Mooncake celebration event kick start with all event com members, volunteers and helpers assembling at SN kitchen, with knifes, chopping boards and gloves! Instead of letting SN kitchen staffs to cut the mooncakes, peeling of pomelo, brewing of tea and the usual distribution to the elderly during tea break; the volunteers and helpers, for the very first time, took up this holistic job. From the cheerful and happy looks from all elderly, nurses, helpers and volunteers, it is for sure that this simple chore has touched the hearts of many in the Home.
Upon hearing the rehearsal music before commencing the celebration, a few eager elderly beneficiaries couldn’t wait and rolled in on their wheels!
With the arrival of SHARE beneficiaries, the program started off with good performances from our very own volunteer, Ah Hong, who did 2 fabulous mandarin songs (十五 的月亮 & 只要你过的比我好), 2 lively dances done up by Honey’s young and sweet nieces, Hokkien & Teochew songs by Ah Ang’s friend and ‘乒乒乐’ (Matching games) conducted by our very own game masters, Jordy & Ah Teck.
From the happy expressions, swaying of bodies and applauses from the beneficiaries, the volunteers, helpers and organizing team are very sure that the efforts putted up has definitely reciprocated with gratitude!
